OUR COFFEE COMES DIRECTLY FROM
FAMILY KIKEO IN LAOS

Tyrvään Pappila, together with Slow, works directly with one smallholder coffee grower in Laos - Family Kikeo - with the aim of improving their livelihoods and the tree cover and plant diversity on the family's farms and surrouding areas. And of course, our aim is to serve  great coffee for you!

PUDAMKHUAN VILLAGE
BOLAVEN PLATEAU, LAOS

TOTAL HECTARES: 1.4

FARM ALTITUDE: 1400m

HOUSEHOLD SIZE: 4 PEOPLE

Mrs. Teng, with her 2 children, lives in Pudamkhuan village, high up in the Bolaven Plateau of Laos.

She originally settled down in the area in 2000,  and has grown coffee for 16 years. Some parts of the farm she grew from scratch herself, and some she inherited. Ms. Teng grows her coffee under the gentle shade of trees,  and takes care to use only natural farming methods on her property.

In her free time, Mrs. Teng loves listening to Lao country songs, spending time with her family, and the odd game of Petanque. She sometimes has a few beers or soft drinks with her favourite foods - bamboo soup, grilled chicken and papaya salad.
